Setup Guide for Netscape Communicator 4.x
The following is a guide to setup Netscape Communicator 4.x with the new email
server settings for DataBoss Inc. If you do not have the the latest version of Netscape
Communicator 4.x then you can download the latest version from our website. Use the
settings (highlighted in bold letters) and apply it to the same locations you will find in
your version of Netscape Communicator.
If you don't know which version you have, click on Help
-> About on the toolbar.

Step 1
Open Netscape Communicator
Select Edit -> Preferences from the toolbar, |

Step 2
The Preferences window comes up. Click on
the + sign beside Mail & Newsgroups in the left
column. |

Step 3
Click on Mail Servers just under Mail & Newsgroups. |

Step 4
Click on the Edit button beside Incoming Mail Servers.
Note: When you signed up with
DataBoss Inc, you received an email address plus a password. This is the info that you
will need to proceed.

Step 5 (Revised
Section)
Enter pop.theboss.net in the Server Name: box. Make sure that the Server
Type is POP3 Server from the drop down and enter your
full email
address with a % (percent sign) instead of the @ sign (e.g. yourname%theboss.net) in the
User Name field as it was given to you when you signed up or when you got this email
address.Note Please keep in mind that alias
email addresses do not require to be setup with an account. Alias emails will be directed
to a main email address.

syntax. The correct way would be in this example chuck%theboss.net
Click OK to close this window. |

Step 6 (Revised
Section)
In the field Outgoing mail (SMTP) server: type the
following: smtp.theboss.netEnter your enter
your full email address with a % (percent sign) instead of the @ sign (e.g.
yourname%theboss.net) in the Outgoing
server user name box. This is the same email address
as in your Incoming mail Username.
Note
The picture on the right shows the wrong email

Step 7
Click on the OK button at the bottom of the window. You must close your Netscape and
restart it again for the new settings to take. Your email is now set up and ready for you
to use. |
