Setup
Guide for MS Outlook 2000
The following is a guide to setup MS Outlook Express 6.0 with the new email
server settings for DataBoss Inc. If you do not have the the latest
version of MS Outlook then you can either buy the latest
version or use the settings (highlighted in
bold letters) and apply it to the same locations you will find in your version of
MS Outlook.
If you don't know which version you
have, click on Help -> About on the toolbar.

Step 1
Open MS Outlook 2000
Select Tools -> Services from the toolbar, |

Step 2
The Services window comes up.
Click on Add
to add a new service account. |

Step 3
The Add Service to Profile window comes up.
Select Internet Email in the Available
information Services: field,
Then click on the button OK
in the bottom part of the window.

Step 4
The Mail Account Properties | General
window comes up.
In the field Mail Account: type DataBoss
Email service.
In the Name:
field, enter your Full Name,
In the E-mail address: field, enter the
email address that you want to setup this service for,
In the Reply address: field, enter the
same email address.
Then click on the tab Servers
in the top part of the window.

Step 5
The DataBoss Email Service Properties | Servers
window.
In the field Incoming
mail (POP3): type the following: pop.theboss.net
In the field Outgoing mail (SMTP): type
the following: smtp.theboss.net
In the field Account name: type your
full email address,
In the field Password:
type the password that belongs to this email address,
Select the check box My
server requires authentication,
Then click on the tab Connection
in the top part of the window. |

Step 6
The DataBoss Email Service Properties | Connection
window.
If you have an ADSL connection select: Connect
using my local area network (LAN)
If you have a Dialup (modem) connection
and you want Outlook to establish a connection for sending and receiving
email, select: Connect Using my phone line
and select a modem from the modem dropdown box.
If you have a Dialup (modem) connection
but you don't want Outlook to establish a connection automatically,
select: I establish my internet connection
manually
Then click on the OK
button in the bottom part of the window.

Step 7
Click on the Ok button to accept the
notification on restarting MS Outlook.

Step 8
You are now back to the window of Step 2
Click on the Ok
button to close this window.

Step 9
Close MS Outlook,
Start MS Outlook again to activate the
newly created service. |
