Setting up a Dial Up connection in
Windows 98
- Click on My
Computer and then open the Control Panel
or Click on START | Settings| Control Panel
- Select Internet
Options and a screen with six tabs should
open (shown below). Click on the Connections
tab.
- Click on Setup
button and that will start the Connection Wizard

- Select I have an
existing Internet account through my phone line
or a local area network, and click on the Next
button

- Click on Select
this option if you are accessing the Internet
using an Internet Service Provider or local area
network and click on the Next button.

- Ensure 'Connect
using my Phone Line' is selected, and click Next.

- You will be asked
to enter the phone number for the modem pool. The
phone number is 380-3222. Also ensure the
box entitled Dial using the area code and
country code is unchecked. Click on Next
to continue.

- In the box for User
Name, enter the username you selected at
DataBoss. For the box entitled Password,
enter the password you selected at DataBoss. The
systems are case sensitive (use lowercase). After
you have entered the information click on Next.

- For advanced
settings, select No, and click on Next.

- For the connection
name, type in: DataBoss then click on Next.

- When you are asked
to setup your Internet mail account, select No,
then click Next.

- When you are asked
to setup your Internet news account, select No,
then click on Next.

- When you are asked
to setup your Internet Directory Service, select
No, then click on Next.

- Click on Finish.
You have now setup your Internet dial-in.

Making
your new Internet Connection shortcut
| 1. Double click on My Computer |

| 2. Double click on Dial-Up
Networking. |

| 3. Right click and Drag
DataBoss connection onto your desktop and select Create
Shortcut here. |
