Setting up a Dial Up connection in Windows 2000


  1. Click on My Computer and then open the Control Panel or Click on START | Settings| Control Panel
  2. Select Internet Options and a screen with six tabs should open (shown below). Click on the Connections tab.
  3. Click on Setup button and that will start the Connection Wizard

  1. The Network Connection Wizard will start. Click Next

  1. In the Network Connection Type dialogue, choose the Dial-up to the Internet option and click Next.

  1. The next step launches the Internet Connection Wizard, where you select "I want to set up my Internet connection manually" and then click the Next button

  1. Select the "I connect through a phone line and a modem" and click the Next button

  1. Now you select the Modem you wish to connect with. If you have only one modem installed this will already be chosen - if not, simply click on the down arrow to see a list of installed modems.

    When you have made your choice, click the Next button

  1. Now you type in the phone number for the modem pool at DataBoss, which is 380-3222.
    Click Next when you have typed in the phone number

  1. Now type in the User Name and Password you selected at DataBoss in the proper fields.

    Click Next when you have typed the information into the fields

  1. Now you are asked to provide a Connection Name – type in "DataBoss"

    Click Next to continue

  1. Now you are done. Click Finish to connect to the internet.
