Setting up a Dial Up connection in
Windows 2000
- Click on My
Computer and then open the Control Panel
or Click on START | Settings| Control Panel
- Select Internet
Options and a screen with six tabs should
open (shown below). Click on the Connections
tab.
- Click on Setup
button and that will start the Connection Wizard

- The Network Connection Wizard will start.
Click Next

- In the Network
Connection Type dialogue, choose the Dial-up
to the Internet option and click Next.

- The next step
launches the Internet Connection Wizard,
where you select "I want to set up my
Internet connection manually" and then
click the Next button

- Select the "I
connect through a phone line and a modem"
and click the Next button

- Now you select the Modem
you wish to connect with. If you have only one
modem installed this will already be chosen - if
not, simply click on the down arrow to see a list
of installed modems.
When you have made your choice, click the Next
button

- Now you type in the
phone number for the modem pool at DataBoss,
which is 380-3222.
Click Next when you have typed in the
phone number

- Now type in the User
Name and Password you selected at
DataBoss in the proper fields.
Click Next when you have typed the
information into the fields

- Now you are asked
to provide a Connection Name type
in "DataBoss"
Click Next to continue

- Now you are done.
Click Finish to connect to the
internet.
